We all know that clean skin is the foundation of beauty, but most people don’t realize that even the best organic foaming cleansers usually leave behind a film of oil-based debris, such as waterproof makeup, pollutants and sebum. That’s why cleansing oils are especially beneficial.
Cleansing oil works by attaching emulsifying agents to oil-based debris, and encapsulating them so that they can be easily removed from the skin surface. Now your favorite cleanser can penetrate deeper into the pores to remove excess oil and metabolic waste.
Even though people with oily skins tend to shun from using oil-based products on their skins, cleansing oil does wonders for all skin conditions, even to allergy- and acne-prone skins or skin affected with psoriasis and dermatitis.
You can even use cleansing oil around eye area – I use my own Organic Cleansing Oil (Petite Marie Organics) to remove waterproof liner and mascara, and cleansing oil worked faster than any eye makeup remover, leaving gentle eye area soft and moisturized. In fact, oily skins can especially benefit from using cleansing oil as it melts the excess oil on the skin without irritation, unlike most aggressive salicylic-acid based cleansers. For added skin benefits, cleansing oils contain antioxidants such as acai and calendula.
