Company History

I was first inspired to create a natural skincare range after years of suffering from bad acne.

Doctors told me that the only treatment was to take high dose of Accutane or a similar acne medication followed by benzoyl peroxide cream on a daily basis.

I did not want to expose myself to risk associated with acne medication use or skin damage potentially arising from regular benzoyl peroxide treatments, so I decided to take matters into my own hands.

I started researching all the products I used, to see if there were common ingredients triggering my acne problem.

I realized that many chemicals used in skin care products can actually aggravate acne by irritating the skin and causing allergies that mask themselves as acne. These toxins can build up in the body and disturb precious hormonal balance which leads to increased oiliness of the skin and more acne. These chemicals are widely used because they are cheap, readily available, and they increase profits by extending shelf life of beauty products.

At that time I was pregnant with my daughter Marie and I couldn’t find natural toxin-free products that would help keep my skin smooth and clear without exposing my baby to proven toxins and carcinogens.

My discoveries and years of writing about beauty for leading fashion and lifestyle magazines led me to writing a book The Green Beauty Guide: Your Essential Resource to Organic and Natural Skincare, Hair Care, Makeup and Fragrances which was published by Health Communications Inc in 2oo8. Same year I have launched Petite Marie Organics with three products: Kiss of Love moisturizer for sensitive skin suitable for moms and babies, Happy Face face and body wash, and Healing Herbal Mist, a multi-purpose toner for all body parts.

My goal was to create the cleanest plant-based skin care for moms and babies with a range of products formulated for people with troubled, problem, acne prone skin. I still use my own products every day even though my skin is now clear and free from acne.

Today Petite Marie Organics team manufacturers all of its products in our workshop and lab in the heart of Kent, United Kingdom. Our team includes estheticians and herbalists who test the latest natural ingredients and expertly blend them into our unique products.

I am personally involved in the formulation process – and to share the secrets of beauty industry, I have just written another book, Green Beauty Recipes: Easy Homemade Recipes to Make Your Own Organic and Natural Skincare, Hair Care, and Body Care Products (Petite Marie Publishing, 2010). After a challenging end of 2010, we have now found our new online home on BIGCommerce and soon plan to move our manufacturing and distribution facility to Switzerland. We hope you enjoy our new formulations as we plan to incorporate more Swiss organic ingredients in our products.
